data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>GRAPE_ANTHO aims at the development of an environmentally friendly method for the management of solid winery by-products, allowing the extraction of bioactive compounds that can be further used for the development of food additives exerting neuroprotective effects and the potential to prevent and\/or delay neurodegenerative disorders and other age-related diseases development and progression.<\/p>\n<p>Through the implementation of this project we anticipate to gain several environmental, financial and social benefits, as outlined below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Significantly reduce the environmental footprint of wineries, by providing an environmentally friendly solution for managing the solid waste generated by their operation<\/li>\n<li>Reduce the costs associated with winery by-products processing, required before their safe disposal, using traditional methods<\/li>\n<li>Establish business advantages by providing novel, cost effective methods for extraction of anthocyanin-rich fractions using winery by-products as raw material<\/li>\n<li>Provide scientific data on the neuroprotective and antioxidant effects of anthocyanins and anthocyanin-rich extracts against neurodegenerative diseases<\/li>\n<li>Develop and commercialize novel products with added value based on anthocyanin-rich extracts from winery-byproducts, promoting further pharmaceutical industry applications<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the prevention and\/or delayed progression of neurodegenerative diseases, which is expected to improve affected individual\u2019 quality of life and reduce nursing
